Bussola

Reopening its doors again in November 2015, Bussola, an old favourite with the expat crowd has a new look. Lovingly remodeled by the LW Design Group, her new look is youthful and contemporary; with a sensational outdoor dining and bar area. Included are spaces to relax under fanned canopies or one can dine with friends at the communal high tables.

Acoulite were invited to collaborate along with L W Design Group on this fresh new look and together we worked with Aati Contractors to install the design. Acoulite were tasked with sourcing and designing numerous custom external fixtures to breathe new life into the restaurant and bar while also providing lighting solutions for the sophisticated but modern interior. The restaurant has a show kitchen in order to enhance the theatre and experience in the vibrant new space. Guests marvel at the open wine display whilst watching the chefs toss the pasta.

Beautiful glass pendants were used to great effect in the dining areas. Creating greater illumination and ambience for diners as well as being striking statement pieces in their own right. Recessed lighting was used in both interior and exterior spaces. The social islands were lit from below using recessed LED lighting solutions lending an updated feel and mood to the space. Near the kitchen, recessed lighting interacted with the white ceramic tile creating a pearlescent sheen that played off nicely with the other textures in the space – wood and patterned ceilings.

The whole project was project managed and conducted under the guidance of Design Confidence and delivered on time and on budget, much to the clients joy. Just in time for the cooler weather ensuring that the Bussola experience lives on for many more years.
