Credit One

Credit One was founded in 2005 and is a market leader in the automotive and auto related finance industry. Acoulite was hired to provide lighting for their new and innovative office based in Kuwait. The architect, AGI (http://www.agi-architects.com), designed an office inspired by the modern car, with sleek lines, reflective surfaces and a glass and chrome finish. The Credit One brand emphasizes environmental consciousness and Acoulite was briefed to provide materials and technologies that were green, ecological and in line with this ethos.

Working closely with the architect and the lighting designer Aureo (http://www.aureolighting.com) to deliver a project within budget and within the time frame, Acoulite assisted with the value engineering process. Together with the design team, we ensured that any alternative products used were in line with the original specified brief and aesthetic criteria.

The lighting design was created around AGI’s original concept; we put in linear profiles to create the feeling of a moving vehicle. To stay in line with the environmentally friendly image the profiles were made from extruded aluminium embedded with LED chipboards, which minimized power consumption.

Because of the high metallic finish to the project, especially the polished aluminium wall, it was important to used lighting which would not create an unpleasant glare, but at the same time giving enough illumination to create an aesthetically pleasing effect.
