Vision Tech was looking for a cutting-edge lighting solution to complement the space age feel of their office space

Perkins and Will (http://perkinswill.com) commissioned Acoulite to work alongside them on the design. Part of the AMBB Group (http://www.ambb.net) of companies, Vision Tech handles specialist fit out projects, where top class workmanship is required.

According to the brief, Acoulite was tasked with designing a modern and minimalistic office look, which also incorporated elements of the futuristic. It was crucial to provide lighting that would complement the modern interior, by using a palate of black and white alongside the super high gloss finish. In order to achieve the smooth minimalist and clean look, Acoulite had to integrate 17 hidden systems into the black marble in the reception and lighting into open ceilings. This proved complicated, however, the final appearance was sleek and polished.

Subtle lighting solutions were used in the boardroom from Hidden Systems by Mizar Lighting (http://mizarlighting.com/eng/index.asp) in Italy. With the aim to create total flexibility for a multi-use space. A variety of systems were used from Mizar including: The Hidden 17 system, Thot channel system, Surround system and Ether Pendant. LED lighting allowed for an enhanced atmosphere when video conferencing and mood lighting for a more relaxed meeting space. The LED lighting was concealed in deep recessed tracks to avoid glare and reflect off opposite surfaces, giving the space a feeling of infinity.
