Acoulite was selected to provide lighting and control solutions for the new DIFC Headquarters—an ambitious, design-led workspace transformation delivered across two phases. The project achieved LEED Gold Certification and was Highly Commended at the Workspace Awards, a reflection of its quality, sustainability, and architectural finesse.

Our Role
Acoulite was tasked with delivering a lighting solution that offered high performance and energy efficiency, while also complementing the overall design of the space. With LEED-certified professionals on our team, we ensured that our lighting approach aligned with the project’s sustainability goals—contributing meaningfully to the HQ’s LEED Gold certification.
The objective was to strike the right balance between technical performance and visual appeal—ensuring a functional yet modern environment for employees and visitors.
Phase 1: Head Quarters
We specified Kreon’s plug-and-play wired system across operational zones, chosen for its clean look and reliable performance. The challenge lay in meeting Kreon’s precision standards, which required detailed shop drawings and rigorous coordination.
What set this project apart was the collaborative synergy between Acoulite, Kreon, INC Group, and the MEP contractor. Multiple workshops were held both on-site and at INC’s offices. Our technical lead Jordan played a pivotal role through constant site visits and coordination, while Muthu brought in deep product knowledge to ensure we met the client's expectations without compromise.
Phase 2: VIP & Executive Areas
In the executive zones, lighting was tailored for flexible ambiance—formal or relaxed. Corridors featured NEKO’s Moduline system, a minimalist linear solution complementing the architectural theme.
A notable element was the trimless Kreon channel we integrated into the stretch ceiling (also supplied by Acoulite). This precision detailing created a seamless, unified ceiling aesthetic—an elegant design hallmark of the space.
Lighting Control System: Philips Dynalite
For this landmark project, Acoulite also delivered a Philips Dynalite lighting control system, enhancing user comfort, energy efficiency, and seamless integration. The system played a pivotal role in achieving LEED Gold Certification, aligning perfectly with the project's goals for sustainability and adaptive performance.
Lighting Control System: Philips Dynalite
- System Used: Philips Dynalite — chosen for its flexibility, reliability, and powerful integration capabilities.
- BACnet Integration: Centralized lighting management via the Building Management System (BMS) allowed real-time energy monitoring and analytics.
- Occupancy & Daylight Sensors: Strategically installed across all zones to automate dimming and switching based on occupancy levels and available daylight—significantly reducing energy usage.
- AV Integration: In collaboration with Polymedia (AV supplier), lighting in boardrooms, majlis, and lounges was linked to the AV system—allowing intuitive scene control. For instance, lights automatically shift to a presentation mode when a meeting begins, streamlining user experience and enhancing functionality.
Challenges
One of the key challenges was the accuracy needed to execute the Kreon system to spec. Every drawing and measurement had to be spot-on to ensure a plug-and-play setup without delays. This demanded a high level of collaboration between Acoulite, INC Group, and Kreon—resulting in a smooth handover and flawless execution.
The Result
At the end of Phase 1, our team was personally congratulated by the client, consultant, and contractor—a rare and gratifying moment that underscored the value of our hands-on technical support and deep product expertise.
